9/22/2019 RHINO Poetry Forum: Workshop with Bill Yarrow
Erasure in Poetry
Just as there are two approaches to sculpture—additive and subtractive—there are two approaches to writing poems: piling word on word and phrase on phrase until a form emerges, or carving away dross to reveal the hidden form buried in a block of language. This workshop will explore the idea of erasure both in writing and in improving our own poems. Participants will create their own erasure poems in class.
