A Spider Climbs A Thread and Sets its Web Aquiver by Jennifer Moss
Watch where the long line comes out of a life:
we are looped in it, living in it like the weather
lives in it, like the spider moves the fly
from pain into oblivion.
We who lose our way think
we have lost our home.
But no: home slowly, tightly, wraps itself around us.
JENNIFER MOSS is the author of A Goat from a Distance (forthcoming, Dream Horse Press) and of the chapbook, Beast, to Be Your Friend (New Michigan Press, 2009). She has published poems in Hotel Amerika, Pleiades, Conduit, Denver Quarterly, River Styx, and others, and has received grants from the Washington State Artist Trust and the Seattle Arts Commission.
